Evolving Trends in Global Logistics
Denholm Global Logistics works directly with importers, exporters and suppliers. Given the increased focus on global logistics and freight forwarding – driven in part by the impacts of Covid and Brexit - we are often asked about the trends we see evolving.
Of course, the industry is acutely aware of record-high freight rates from China to the UK and, while the impact is widespread, it is particularly felt by importers of lower value goods.
The recent anniversary of the UK’s first Covid lockdown is a timely reminder that, with so many people spending more time at home, attention has turned to DIY and home décor. In the last year at Denholm Global Logistics, we have seen a sizeable increase in household goods, domestic and garden furniture. However, due to the low number of units that can be loaded per container, coupled with the current high container rate, importers are now looking at alternatives to the prevalent supplies from China.
Because of our global network of established partners, we continue to help keep our customers’ freight moving efficiently as they extend the countries from where they source their goods.
